Magpie breakfast

The best bet for breakfast in midtown is surely Magpie. This cozy restaurant is placed within a reclaimed warehouse at th R and 15 neighborhood. A personal favorite of mine is the biscuits and gravey. This breakfast is incredibly heavy, but serves as a nice way to kick off a day of adventures.

For a lighter faire, my wife usually starts here day with granola and yogurt. This home-made granola is high quality and unusual. A strongly recommended place for anyone in midtown.

Magpie also doubles as a store front for pretty fancy dinners. We hav much less experience at night, but with any luck this situation will change soon!

Until we write again, good eating!

Sierra Nevada Brewery

Day trip to Oroville/Chico was a great success.

We started the day with a brisk hike around lake oroville. This is a great wildlife area which showcases the beauty of the surrounding countryside quite well.

The real star of the day however was the Sierra Nevada Brewery. This uniquely California brew pub was at the cutting edge of the craft brew movement which began in the 1980's. The company has managed to stay successful by making strong chatacter beer, and by being an putstanding steward of the environment. The brewery uses solar panels to power the electrical needs, recycles effluent into their estate gardens, and take other steps to be Eco-friendly. It will not be a surprises to see Sierra Nevada be as popular in 15 years as an innovator of green energy as they have become as an innovator of great beer.

Here's a toast to delicious sustainability.

The chicken reports the scattering stair throughout our composite.

We are going to start our first postings with information centric to our first focus city; Sacramento.

This is a "cow-town" by some people's standards. But, we think it is actually quite underrated. As an important disclaimer to this above statement, neither of us is from Sacramento, or California.

Therefore, we bring an external outlook which may turn your view of this city upside down.
